Communication Abstract

Title: Behind the decisions of a wine tasting panel

Abstract: The evaluation of the “quality” of the decisions of a wine tasting panel is not a trivial task. In fact, the individual decision processes and the reliability of the panellists can change considerably over time. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to figure out appropriate methods and indicators to monitor the individual and collective performance of the assessors.

Based on the long IVDP experience in the sensory evaluation of wines, some methods for assessing the stability and reliability of the decisions produced by a tasting panel will be presented and discussed in this presentation.
